Bird flu alert raises (Hope Star)

By STEPHANIE HARRIS-SMITH Hope Star Writer A recent disease alert was sent out by the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission regarding Avian Influenza, commonly known as the bird flu in chickens. No local cases of exposure to the bird flu have been found, according to Hempstead County Extension Agent Gerald Alexander.
